Yes i know im years late but i only really got into ftl a year ago and i finally feel ive played it enough to create my own weapon tiers. The universe of ftl is inhabited by friendly and enemy ships.

Ftl ship tier list ae. Starting weapons can only be found aboard the ship that has them i include crystal weapons because getting to the crystal sector to buy them is an extremely rare and difficult. The weapons at the top of the list are consistently effective in almost any ship set up. Heres my current ae tier 1. Your most unusually high picks. The purpose of a tier list is not to discuss what could potentially happen but rather to evaluate relative strength in a vacuum. Even though this ship went down on my tier list i think it got a bit better in ae. Since ftl is a game of rng you want to minimize any variance as much as possible. Your best move with the ship is still to sell most of your starting junk and buy a decent weapon but now shops carry more stuff so you should be able to do that more consistently.

Engi bs downside is the entire ship not merely the crew which is worse than any other ship in the game. Now this list is split into two starting weapons and store weapons. Rock b zoltan c engi b. The only ship ive piloted which more restarts let alone anywhere near as many is the dreadful engi b. The one exception in amazing tier would be the pike beam and thats because its fairly easy to get something to break through shields and the trade off is immense. If this tier list were based on my experiences the zoltan a would be lower than the slug b. Ship strengths feel a lot closer in general with ae boarding got some big nerfs but 4 mana teleporters are still insane. Everything below is obsolete with ae.
So ftls been out for a while and i figure weve all had enough time to let our opinions of the different ships settle and i thought itd be fun to rank them.
